Textiles have always been one of the mainstays of Made in Italy manufacturing, and Contifibre, a leading Italian company in the manufacture and distribution of textured and smooth Nylon 6.6 yarns – one of the world's most used synthetics – is one of the most representative cases.
Founded in 1973 in Casaloldo (Mantova) in the women's hosiery district, the company started out as a supplier to local companies in the early '90s, and progressively took on an increasingly significant role at the turn of the century, expanding to new countries and opening new facilities.
Its development included investments in France in Ardèche in 1994 to serve the French and European market. This modern facility uses the most advanced texturizing technologies to produce high quality Nylon yarns. In Poland, the company founded the Contifibre Poland Sp. Z.O.O. commercial centre, headquartered in the city of Lodz.
Contifibre is the exclusive distributor of LYCRA® fibre for the INVISTA™ Group and its specialities for Germany and the countries of Eastern Europe.

In 1995 the ContiFashion creative centre was founded thanks to a collaboration with the INVISTA™ group. The lab is a centre of innovation and development to serve clients around the world in women's and seamless hosiery, industries that choose to use ContiFibre yarns and LYCRA®fibre.
Today, the company has 215 employees around the world. The Nylon yarns the company produces are used in all types of clothing: hosiery and seamless, as well as knitwear and weaving, with products that take into account the performance and comfort requirements that consumers demand.
